The role of Seneca Crane, the Head Gamemaker of The Hunger Games, will be played by Wes Bentley. Bentley is definitely younger than we expected, but he should fit well into a Capitol role regardless.
Bentley is probably best known for playing a pot dealing teen in American Beauty. Bentley spoke candidly about his stuggles with addiction and his career seems to be going well after recovery.
We also have the tributes for District 8, known for its textile production. The two competitors will be played by newcomers Samuel Tan and Mackenzie Lintz.
After this it’s just Districts 2, 9 and 10 to cast. Hopefully they keep interspersing some of the other casting news as they did with Seneca Crane. We can’t wait for Haymitch news. Though that role has been harder to cast from what we’ve heard due to John C. Reilly’s unavailability.
The Hunger Games hits theaters on March 23, 2012.
