Sam Claflin has been cast as the Prince in Snow White and the Huntsman, co-starring alongside Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen and Kristen Stewart as Snow White. Most of the news we’ve seen has surrounded the role of the Huntsman, which has been much more of a challenge to cast as big names have come and gone including Viggo Mortensen and Johnny Depp. They currently have an offer out to Thor’s Chris Hemsworth.
Claflin started out his acting career as Richard in the Starz mini-series The Pillars of the Earth. We’ll soon see him in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and he has been offered the lead in The Seventh Son.
This particular brand of Ms. White comes from Universal, but is one of three different retellings of the tale in the making. The other two are Relativity’s The Brothers Grimm: Snow White and Disney’s Snow and the Seven. This follows a recent trend of dipping into the public domain for literature inspiration.
