The outpouring of relief for the victims of Netflixgeddon 2011 has been both touching and poignant. But the threat of cheap movie price hikes may not end there. Variety reports that el cheapo movie rental company Redbox may be raising it’s rental fee a whopping 15-20% on some markets, specifically in Austin, TX and Portland, OR. Granted, this will make a $1.00 movie into a $1.15 movie, but I’m sure we’ll see some hullabaloo about it from somebody.
So, how are you getting your movie rental needs covered? Still paying for Netflix? Hulu Plus? Redbox all the way? Between us, I’ve never even rented from Redbox before. But I know some serious devotees.
