Lionsgate released, via Facebook, a new photo from the filming of The Hunger Games which stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, and Liam Hemsworth as Gale. Gale is seen standing at The Reaping in District 12. You can see a couple of Peacekeepers lurking around as well. My thoughts are that Gale looks a bit old for 18, but is kind of growing on me, despite my earlier concerns on his casting. If you didn’t know, Hemsworth is the younger brother of Chris Hemsworth (Thor).
The Hunger Games is a young adult sci-fi story about a future dystopian Earth where children compete in fights to the death for sport and revenge. The story evolves into apparent romance, battles, and ultimately war. Donald Sutherland, Lenny Kravitz, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Wes Bentley, Toby Jones, and Elizabeth Banks round out the major roles in the first film out of four.
