Josh Pence was in The Social Network, but you probably didn’t know it. He played the body of one of the Winklevoss twins, with Armie Hammer’s face superimposed on it. Poor guy.
But thankfully he’s getting some actual face time in the next Batman movie from Christopher Nolan, Dark Knight Rises. Pence joins Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman reprising their roles and newcomers Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard.
THR reports the rumors on who he might play:
The story line has also been kept locked up in the Batcave but Pence’s casting throws more than a few crumbs to follow. Ra’s Al Ghul was played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins, thus paving the way for a possible return of the supposedly dead character. Also, while the studio never confirmed Cotillard’s character, it has been rumored to be that of Thalia Al Ghul, the daughter of Batman’s mentor-turned-enemy. Sources say Pence will appear in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the present story.
With the addition of flashbacks into the mix, it opens up a lot more character opportunities. We’ll keep an eye out for more reports on the new characters in Nolan and Bale’s last hurrah with the Batman.
