First, MTV has learned that Morgan Matthews, an award-winning British filmmaker, shot a documentary on the set of Deathly Hallows that will be coming out after the final installment of the franchise. We’re glad because we live for behind the scenes and kinda never want this franchise to end. Apparently the content will span the entire film series. A full ten years of content available to him must make for good stuff.
Here’s what producer David Heyman had to say:
“He went behind the scenes and had incredible access to talent and crew and has made a documentary that is not yet complete, which shows the challenges of making the film — the tolls it takes on actors and crew. It’s not just pure gloss and everybody’s happy. It’s real. … At the same time, it’s really, really funny.”
“Morgan comes in to interview Dan in his dressing room, and Dan says, ‘Will you wait one second? I want to watch the 2:50 at Doncaster,’ which is a horse race. He says, ‘Yeah, I bet on it.’ ‘How much?’ ‘Ten quid.’ And the horse, of course, comes in way behind the pack.”
There is no update on a release, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear it.
Next up we have two deleted scenes from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 from the upcoming DVD release on April 15. The first is a scene where Harry explains the philosophy of the horcrux creation and the tracking via the “taboo” on Voldemort’s name, two crucial plot points missing from the film, in our opinion. The scenes are a little low quality and have subtitles, but they are good nonetheless.
The second clip shows Harry disguised as the Ministry official Runcorn delivering some needed information veiled as a threat coming from an enemy. We like this scene in the book though it probably didn’t hurt anything to cut it from the movie.
Lastly, Worst Previews has a low-quality clip from the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 showing Harry and wandmaker Ollivander discussing the nature of wands and what might be happening with the Elder wand and Voldemort.
