After wrapping The Amazing Spider-Man, Emma Stone may be heading back to her Zombieland roots. She’s been offered the lead in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Mia Wasikowska, Anne Hathaway, and Natalie Portman were all candidates, but Stone may be the one who lasts.
Lionsgate is working with director Craig Gillespie on the film based on the bestselling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, which
blasphemes re-imagines Jane Austen’s world with Elizabeth Bennet as a zombie-killing heroine. The list of ladies is a good sign for the film and Stone is a fantastic choice for most any role these days. I know I can’t wait to see her in The Help, though that’s likely to have a different audience than this one.
Portman is still involved since she is producing alongside Annette Savitch, Richard Kelly, Sean McKittrick and Tedd Hamm. [THR]
